About Me
Hello everyone, my name is Hailey Kindelberger and I am beyond excited to be going to Japan!
I am currently a sophomore at the University of Washington studying speech and hearing sciences as well as environmental topics. Additionally, I am a part of the interdisciplinary honors program.
Although I was overjoyed when I accepted my spot at the UW and became a Husky, I was also a little bit upset that I did not get the chance to be living in another part of the world as I had lived in Western Washington my whole life and wanted to extend my horizons. So I decided that in order to get this experience it would be beneficial to study abroad. I landed on Japan because I wanted to be in a place where the primary language was not English and where community members focused on a collectivist culture instead of an individualistic culture. I am also I big advocate for public transit and since Tokyo has some of the best public transit in the world I wanted to come and experience that.
